Raavanan-Watch it for Visual treats and if you are Mani sir fan,i'm sorry

Raavanan-Well,its not movie review its my view.Well what to say,Am one of the die-hard Mani sir' fan.But i never watched his movies in  theatres .Since i realised myself that i love this man and his movies,I was very eager in the release of Raavanan and watched it on the first day first show.I must say it was a very different experience for me..I want to share it.. So here it is,lets go...

As usual ,his movies' dialogues can be clearly audible only when we watch in headphones with a clear dvd. we could never expect it in theatres..Why mani  sir.. why.. There are many directors who could still make it natural with clear dialogue deliveries like Goutham menon,Balachandar....Paathi thaan kekuthu...

Then i'll come to the songs now.Mani sir is famous for getting nice songs from the music directors and picturusing it in a beautiful way like people say they are awesome treat to watch.Rahman indeed gave some nice numbers here but i got cheated in songs also..Hot song of the past two months Usure poguthey came at the wrong time but it was picturised superbly.. it was pleasure to watch it.. the beautiful Ash in athirapally water falls, thanks to the cameraman Santhosh sivan, who i say is the real hero of the story.Well that too ok but the biggest shock for me in this movie is that my favourite song actually many people's favourite Kaatu sirukki didn't come in picturisation..What a song.. what a composition.. how well the singers Anuradha sriram and Shankar Mahadevan sung and how nicely Vairamuthu written the lyrics.. I was longing for it to see in picturisation as it is the best Mani ratnam who can only picturise it in the best way but it just went as imagination.. Ya but to speak, there was no place in the movie for that fast number and he is not some other director to put a song unnecessarily in a story like they are in a dream..Well Rahman sir could have given it to Shankar for Endhiran i feel..Kodu potta song is ok only on the screen and Keda kari song was similar to yaaro yaarodi song in their previous combination Alaipayuthey.. So that also didn't impress me much.. And the pacifying thing was the song Kalvare kalvare which has a very nice tune, voice by my favourite Shreya Ghosal and  great lyrics by Vairamuthu(But lyrics in pallavi could have been better) and the song is also excellent on screen, thanks to choreography by well known Bharathanaatiyam dancer Shobana,Ash made it the best screen apperance(Nobody is better than Ash in it ) with some entertaining Bhaarathanaatiyam dance movements and Prithivraj also looked hansome.

Then coming to the story, screenplay and dialogues department, story is obvious.Mani sir's portraying of characters was always nice and even if it is a five minute character there was always some meaning in it.Here although he tried to show the ten different behaviours of the hero Veerayaa depending on the situations,it wasn't so interesting.. He is not doing anything ever since he kidnapped and fell in love with Ash ie..,Raagini..He is behaving as good even Raagini also didn't like. All of them in this film are good people and as obvious,if all are good someone has to die in order to conclude the story and that's what happened here too. So it is not typical Mani sir movie.Thrill and twist in the Mani sir movie is missing and the film goes like we guessing (very ordinary).Screenplay was very short. Just a two hr movie so not much things are dealt here..Sir,we need a complete film from u..Even if fours hrs needed,we are always pleasured to watch it..Mani sir himself is a very good writer with great dialogues. But he gave second chance to sushasini, his wife after Iruvar..dialogues are ordinary not much to speak..Absence of Sujatha really played here.

Background score by Rahman was fabulous and the real hero and  heroine are the locations and the cameramans..Mani sir movie is always notable for its cinematography and it worked here too(The only director who shows India beautiful, not like others going to abroad for songs).

All the three Vikram,Ash and Prithivraj did a very good job and particularly Ash was excellent in every scene giving beautiful expressions, thanks to dubbbing artist Rohini ,who is also former actress supported this Raagini's role with a sweet voice ( i saw Seetha in Ash )..Karthik and Prabhu were decent..The touching scene is the climax with a superb acting by Vikram and Ash..Vikram saying like "Intha aasaiku, intha santhosathuku ethume eedu ila..ithuku orey theervu enoda saavu thaan, naan thirumbavum unakaaga varuven"and Ash trying to prevent him from death from the hands of his husband. It was so touching in which the film ending with Rahman singing the final song "Naan varuven"...

Surely it is not in the top 10 best Mani sir movies and noteworthy to watch once..For that one name Mani Ratnam,we forgive him and wait for his next creation :)
